***In 2005 Cosmo Vitelli and Julien Briffaz became partners in a new joint endeavor, creating the Bot'Ox project. They set out to form a producer team like that of the golden disco era, and developed a cohesive visual identity and a theme based on cars and driving culture. Bot'Ox released their debut single "Hummer Party/Crashed Cadillac" in 2006 on Vitelli's I'm a Cliche label. Their unique mix of live instrumentation (Vitelli on guitar and bass, Briffaz on drums) as well as their endless experiments with electronic sounds has brought them great support from all over the world. Together, they seem to have created a totally unexpected dark disco terrain, heightened by their consistent black and white photographs of car crashes, auto junkyards and scrap heaps. This Parisian duo has been active in the French electronic scene since the late 1990s, making original music, remixing and running their own record labels. Vitelli has released a number of 12-inches and a 2003 LP titled Clean on Virgin/Astralwerks. In addition, I'm A Cliche has featured singles by Simian Mobile Disco, Quite Village, Yuksek and Vitelli himself. He has remixed many high-profile dance singles by Daft Punk, Cassius and Radio Slave, to name a few. Briffaz's Briff Records has released material by Ark and Mr. Oizo. In 2003, he started the dancefloor project [T]EKEL and released a highly acclaimed album on Initial Cuts in 2006. He has also mixed much of the debut album by new French dance music sensation Para One. . "Babylon By Car/Tragedy Symphony" is a new single and the fourth release from DFA's new label Death From Abroad. Bot'Ox is currently working on their debut full-length album.
