As one of the most feared and revered bands of the 1990s, BUZZOVEN made a name for itself by bridging the gap between the hardcore punk of bands like ECONOCHRIST and SPITBOY, the more cerebral heaviness of NEUROSIS, and the amplifier worship of bands like SLEEP and EYEHATEGOD. Hatred, pain, addiction, depression and violence all boiled over in both the lyrics and the music. BUZZOVEN was equally infamous for their chaotic, physical live shows, often ending with vocalist/guitarist Kirk Fisher a bloody mess. Welcome to Violence collects the frightening, Billy Anderson-produced debut LP To A Frown and the EPs from the same time period Unwilling to Explain and Wound. Also included is brand new artwork by Arik "Moonhawk" Roper (HIGH ON FIRE, SLEEP, GORE) and liner notes by several characters who bore witness to the chaos of BUZZOVEN including Hank Williams III, Jello Biafra, Jeff Clayton of ANTISEEN, members of EYEHATEGOD and more.
