| ***Here's the first time Ceephax appears on Planet Mu. Ceephax is Andy Jenkinson (from Chelmsford in Essex). He did wicked acid releases on EDMX's Breakin' and some more acid and ravey pieces on First Cask (the Belgian label) plus a recent album on Rephlex. The first track here is a sort of hardcore roller with trippy synths, dubby bass and an embarrassing interlude. 'Friend Track' is 'emo acid'. Again, quite trippy. On the other side we have 'Time Tunnel': this one has what sounds like a 909 plus the Amen break (unmistakable), some 303 and is the possessor of a charming melody of neither the major nor minor persuasion. Castilian (last track) is one of those*IDM video game thingys that people will love. It builds up and up with chords and notes and shit into this massive hands in the air anthem. Enjoy! |
