***Motohiro Nakashima has come of age since his Lo Recordings debut And I Went to Sleep. This time around, using a variety of acoustic instruments, field recordings and electronic sounds, Nakashima creates a lush sound world of delicate textures and intense peaks-- the epic "Looking for my constellation" is a case in point. The whole album is laced with Nakashima's pure, sensitive guitar melodies. For listeners seeking shelter in these increasingly turbulent times, I Dreamt Constellation Sang, offers a little warmth and comfort. I Dreamt Constellations Sang is the second release for LOAF: Lo Alternative Frequencies, a new label operating under Lo Recordings' roof. This new venture creates a dialogue between visual artists and musicians by releasing quality music paired with inspired artwork in strictly limited proportions. The artwork featured on this release is Sergei Sviatchenko's Free Horse With Little White And Blue Spots. Sviatchenko has had numerous solo and group exhibitions across Europe and the USA, and in 2002 founded the Senko Studio, a gallery showing emergent artists from all around the world. |
