***Together, the three women and two men of Show Me The Pink create twin-keyboard-assisted, bass and drumpowered, trumpet-driven disco-punk topped off with multilayered vocals from the whole group. We're talking dance floor juggernaut here -- and by juggernaut we mean crowd surfing on actual surfboards. We mean air cannons blasting clouds of glitter. We mean chipped teeth and smiling faces. We mean fun. Unlike all the detached and debauched art school projects coming out of New York / London / Berlin / et al. that promise expensive drugs and cheap thrills, Show Me The Pink actually delivers something way more elusive and desirable... fun... though for-realness is hard to quantify, the enthusiasm with which they perform should leave no doubt in even the most hardened hater's heart that this bomb combo has more than most. |
