After a long 3 year wait YUSSUF JERUSALEM is back with a follow up to 2008's debut Heart Full Of Sorrow. At the time a bedroom project for BENJAMIN DAURES (CRETEENS, JACK OF HEART), the band has since become his main focus, and the sounds created on the first album here are fully realized. He opens things up yet again with a black metal rager, but from there on out we are left with beautiful, morose, pop songs about chivalry, death, and heartbreak. An album that uses sadness and pain as a beautiful indicator of how amazing life is. Filled with odes to Roky Erickson, spaghetti western soundtracks, Norwegian black metal, and ‘60s french pop; Yussuf Jerusalem manages to blend them all with stunning results. A modern day balladeer of a world long gone. (1000 pressed).
