BACK IN STOCK!!! The first reissue of the songs from the rare 1982 “Penny Lane/I’m Down” 7-inch from Omaha, Nebraska’s BETTER BEATLES, along with eight previously unreleased songs. Unlike their DIY brethren in the punk scene, the Better Beatles sported no originals—just savagely wacked, de-tuned, deadpan readings of Beatles material in a manner no one save the Residents could’ve imagined in 1980. The songs are dark, primitive, analog synth-driven and at times transcendent. The single was a John Peel favorite and was played often by him years after its initial release.
