OK Luv is the massive first single from Starkey's monster of an album Ear Drums and Black Holes, due out in 2010. "OK Luv" features Badness, the UK grime MC most celebrated for the underground hit "The Message Is Love" by Silverlink. Here, over Starkey's bright neon synths and handclaps, he sings as well as MCs, making his intentions known with boasts of prowess. It's an unusual grime track--one that avoids aggressive cliches but maintains that necessary swagger. The epic "Multidial" shows off Starkey's rare compositional skills. Over the course of the song's four minutes, he builds euphoric arpeggiated flourishes over a bent-out-of-shape bassline, showing off his unusual background in classical music. The single closes out with an instrumental version of the title track. DIGITAL VERSION CONTAINS 4 BONUS REMIXES, NOT AVAILABLE ON VINYL.
