First conceived in 1999, and intensively honed over the past four years, Our Earth’s Blood, IV is finally realized! This is no collection—OEB IV is a full-length album spanning five discs! Few artists in any genre have delved to these depths to create such an expansive communication, in such a deepened language. BASTARD NOISE, aided by over two dozen artists from all over the world, have reached a true pinnacle with Our Earth’s Blood IV. This new release not only encapsulates the Our Earth’s Blood tradition of over 15 years, but defines the spirit of caveman electronics that Bastard Noise created. Our Earth’s Blood IV pulls together “Skull Servants” in collaboration of sound and fury, including: MERZBOW, ANDORKAPPEN, AZOIKUM, BIZARRE UPROAR, CHRISTIAN BASS, CLEW OF THESEUS, CULPIS, DEFEKTRO, EMESIS, GOLEM GROSS, GOVERNMENT ALPHA, GUILTY CONNECTOR, JAY RANDALL/AGOROPHOBIC NOSEBLEED, KELLY CHURKO, NYARLATHOTEP, OBLONG BOX, PEACEMAKER, P.W.E., RICK GRIBENAS, ROTTEN PIECE, SICKNESS, SURROUNDED, and VOLITION. As a result of careful composition, and hundreds of hours spent in the studio with Kevin Kipnis, these 24 tracks have both the variety and cohesion necessary for a truly successful collaborative album. Lyrical content reveals the wholly unique voice of Eric Wood, and the packaging tastefully presents all lyrics. Our Earth’s Blood IV defines the overall ethos of Bastard Noise, serving as a manifesto as much as an epic album, clocking in at nearly 5 hours long. Our Earth’s Blood IV is housed within a completely custom, die-cut package. Exterior graphics are printed in alternating matte lamination and spot gloss to create a unique black-on-black look. The package folds out into a cross-shape, with each disc housed in its own sleeve on each side of the cross and one in the center. Careful attention was paid with the design of both the graphics and the package to ensure that the presentation of this monumental album stacked-up to its scale and content. The package is identical in width and height to a jewel case, so it can be stored and displayed in any standard CD rack.
