Welcome Drop The Lime into your home, but expect neither flowers nor bottles of wine. Instead, you will be gifted with a premeditated attack on your entire record collection. Forgive Drop The Lime (a.k.a. L. Venezia), for it's simply his nature. He started programming and composing at a very young age. Teenage rave scene influences (jungle, drum'n'bass, U.K. garage) soon festered into a fascination with drum sounds and fills, which led to a string of break-core drill'n'bass 12-inch releases and compilation appearances on trendsetter labels like Ambush and Peace Off. Killy 123 promises to push Drop The Lime into "serious contender" status among twisted, hardbeat miscreants like AFX, Squarepusher, Kid606, and Venetian Snares.  As its playful title suggests, Killy 123 is a move away from the morbid and dark releases proliferating in today's IDM scene. Taking a goofier approach to melody, these upbeat tracks are mixed clean and loud for maximum dance-floor appeal. In "The Days" and "Amarcord Gold," big band remixes and squirty sound riffs tangle within the context of floor-thumping anthems, inviting consideration of the relationship between old and new forms of dance music. "Rad Girl Killy" and "Cutty Throats" revolve around the empty spaces in sound, allowing the main rhythms to unravel over time, balanced by tickly, eerie melodies. Each side ends with melancholic, beatless tracks that express the energy and emotion put into the creation of the harder, dancier tracks on the EP. These songs, "10.28.00" and "Just Don't Make them Cry," are epic ambient pieces that climb towards a digital heaven. * Upbeat tracks in a Venetian Snares / Squarepusher style * Sure to be heard on dancefloors worldwide * Previous releases on trendsetter labels Ambush and Peace Off
