Son De La Loma is an emblematic theme of Cuban traditional music created by MIGUEL MATAMOROS and the trio that carried his name (a real legend of the Cuban Son) this work best musically identifies Cubans throughout the world, and even more after the Buena Vista Social Club phenomenon. This CD gathers the Son’s original forms and with its variation, the Son Montuno—as they were interpreted in former decades—as well as present day versions. This disc features timbres symbolizing Son’s rural origins and aspects of the urban reality. These themes tell stories full of the Cuban grace and wit with authenticity of tradition.
