For the past five years, Cardopusher has been an unstoppable producer known well across the global electronic underground for dropping track after track of smart, innovative, unpretentious and fearless dancefloor killers. On his third full-length, Yr Fifteen Minutes Are Up, he pursues a new musical direction, diving headfirst into the murky waters of the international bass scene. Unwilling to be pigeonholed into some kind of dubstep / breakcore / jungle hybrid, Cardopusher showcases his rum-soaked sexy side fearlessly, slows down the BPMs and trades the filth for the funk with an all-new laid-back, tropical sound, less hardcore or sample-based than on his previous albums, but every bit as dynamic and innovative. The album’s thirteen tracks cover a wide range of sounds. Highlights include the 2-step bass-infused “Antisharkz” and “Paintbrush,” the electro-futuristic beat stylings of “Naked in Front of a Broken Computer,” the technicolor ’80s boogie hip-hop cut “We Want Ca$h” (featuring championed abstract MC Sensational), the crunked-out dub-techno of “Holiday” (featuring Kid606 and Jesse Quattro) and the sweaty tropical business of “Yr Fifteen Minutes Are Up,” “Coppertoned Punch” and “Nice Up” (featuring premium toasting from Dub War’s MC Juakali). Yr Fifteen Minutes Are Up closes with big remixes by Lisbon bass operator Mr. Gasparov (Soul Jazz / Steak House) who lures the listener underwater with his hypnotic version of “Juice in Blender,” and San Francisco’s #1 badman Ghosts on Tape (Icee Hot / Wireblock / Numbers), showcasing his own style of old-school jackin’ house with his remix of “Coppertoned Punch.”
