*After a few short months holed up in Los Angeles last year writing new material, Jody Bleyle (ex-Team Dresch, ex-Hazel) and Tamala Poljak (ex-Longstocking, ex-Automaticians) emerged with the opus that has become the self-titled Chainsaw Records debut by Infinite X's. Everything between the opening track, "Welcome to the Show," showcasing the songwriting and vocal skills of guitarist Whitney Skillcorn (ex-Fighter D, ex-The Little Deaths), and Poljak's album closer, "Brand New Reconnection," is a joyride combining the best of Bleyle's emo punk anthems with Poljak's pop masterpieces, sprinked with Skillcorn's soft spoken pop punk gems. Scotty Walsh, also of the Automaticans, rounds out the line-up on drums. *Hot on the heels of "The No Heart" seven-inch (Mr. Lady) and yet another all-across-the-country tour, Back to Go finds the Third Sex** slightly older, wiser, and a little more melodic with all the punk pop still intact. *What the Supremes are to soul, and the Runaways are to punk, Tracy + The Plastics are to disco - foxilicious combiners of dance-a-minute beats with everyone's favorite slow jams. Don't be surprised if listening station junkies dance on the ceiling of your emporium. Using their boss drum machine, MIDI Out Control! and Akai 612 Sampler, Tracy, Cola, and Nikki slap mental bumperstickers like "Lesbo-For-Disco + Kick 'Em In The Teeth" on your secret groove thing. Tracy in the lead crosses her fingers and belts it out. Nikki and Cola roll in the back, sneering through two dimensions. Tracy + The Plastics shake to the lo-fi beats of a really cold basement and move to the anti-fi "I want a gold tooth" of VHS.
