You’ll Never Get to Heaven is the dream-pop collaboration of London, Ontario’s ALICE HANSEN and CHUCK BLAZEVIC. Originally released on cassette via the couple’s Mystic Roses imprint, the Adorn EP is a diverse and affecting collection of tunes that builds on the Ektachrome sampledelia, ethereal vocal lines, and consummate production that made their debut LP on Divorce Records one of our favourite albums of 2012. While that first LP was built principally on samples from ‘70s dub and early-20th century classical music, the approach on Adorn is far more disparate—recalling the eclectic Disques du Crépuscule compilations of the 1980s. On Adorn, heart-stopping pop songs sit comfortably alongside fuzzed-out soundscapes and the duo’s interpretations of material written by Brian Eno and Erik Satie. Hand-numbered edition of 330 copies.   “Bands spend years trying to perfect this sort of meticulously layered shoegaze […] You’ll Never Get to Heaven tug at the heartstrings and make you never want to leave your room” - No Fear of Pop   "[The record features a] gorgeous title track, and the every-bit-as-lovely opener “Caught In Time, So Far Away“, which sounds a bit like Chromatics at their most haunting and ethereal."
