Acrid PlainsProfound Lore
Along with Hammers of Misfortune, Asunder, Grayceon, and Ludicra--bands currently raising a fervor in the Bay Area--Saros is regarded as one of the most promising new acts to arrive on the underground metal scene.
Comprised of members from Amber Asylum, legendary black metal act Weakling, and Bastard Noise, Saros's unique progressive and epic extreme metal tastefully blends many styles. The four-piece draws influence from black metal, classic Bay Area metal (...And Justice For All-era Metallica), technical death metal (Symbolic-era Death), neo-classical chamber music (Saros could be considered the metal sister band of Amber Asylum, as singer/guitarist Leila Rauf is a full-time member of both bands while mastermind Kris Force makes an appearance on Acrid Plains), and neo-folk (Agalloch, Death in June).
Produced by the legendary Billy Anderson (known for his work with High on Fire, Neurosis, Sleep, The Melvins, and more), this gem will only serve to further the band's growing reputation.
