Death By Burning by Mantar

Death By Burning
Brutal Panda

***Northern Germany's two-piece monster, MANTAR, reissue their critically acclaimed debut full-length Death By Burning in the US. A ferocious and infectious approach to heavy music, Death By Burning (originally released by Svart Records in 2014) was named one of 2014's top albums by Metal Hammer Germany, LA Weekly (US), Exclaim (CA), MetalSucks (US), Terrorizer (UK) and many more publications, zines and websites. The half-German/half-Turkish duo, consisting of vocalist/guitarist HANNO KLAENHARDT and drummer ERINC SAKARYA recorded Death By Burning in 2013, a raw, self-produced, and 100% DIY display of power. Managing to sound even heavier than most five-piece bands, in spite of the fact that no bass guitar was used on the record, Death by Burning channels early Melvins, Motorhead, and Darkthrone, to deliver a deliciously evil blend of blackened punk.

Self-produced by the band and engineered/mixed by ERIK WOFFORD (Maserati, The Black Angels, White Denim), Breeder sees the group further expanding their meticulously constructed hypnotic sound into new realms of colorful, energetic and emotional territories. Impossible to pin a label to, Boyfrndz seamlessly merge hook-laden, reverb soaked vocals with swirling guitar melodies and complex rhythms. Breeder is an impressionistic journey that is a laudable entry into the pantheon of 21st century musical evolution.
