Time Moves for Me by Disintegration

Disintegration

Time Moves for Me
Feel It

***From the minds of Haley Himiko (Pleasure Leftists), Noah Anthony (Profligate) and Christopher Brown (Cloud Nothings), Disintegration's Time Moves for Me EP transcends the post-punk and synth pop sounds of the past into something entirely new and futuristic. The Cleveland group recorded these four songs in summer 2022 and self-released them on cassette shortly after. Himiko's soaring vocal range carries the EP forward atop a mix of sounds that draw from the worlds of minimal synth, programmed percussion, noise rock guitar, and pure pop melody to create an incredible seventeen minute debut. Feel It is proud to present Time Moves for Me on a vibrant 45 RPM 12" and cannot wait to hear what Disintegration does next!

A City of Unsolved Miseries
Feel It

***Mason City, Iowa's WHY BOTHER? return with A City of Unsolved Miseries, their third album in as many years. Their patented basement recording setup has yet again captured something magical, thirteen originals in all. From the fringes of a small, landlocked Midwestern city—Why Bother? have honed in on a punk sound that is original, self-driven and shows no signs of slowing. Swirling in darker thematics, such as the still unsolved 1995 disappearance of Mason City TV anchor Jodi Huisentruit, the album speaks to every outcast living out their days underneath dark, grey skies. However the music strikes you—Why Bother? have defined yet another chapter of their enigmatic existence with the genius sounds captured on A City of Unsolved Miseries. First pressing limited to 300 copies.

Community Chest
Feel It

***Choncy’s Community Chest is an itch-scratching debut album shaped by post-punk, garage, and hardcore-adjacent music. The album confronts the trials and tribulations of the modern day workforce culture day-by-day in the Rust Belt. The four piece band out of Cincinnati, Ohio embraces their original punk sound through uniquely biting vocals and fluctuating shrill guitars, all kept together with a potent and driving rhythm section. The album was recorded to tape at Amish Studios with Joe Tellman in Nashville, Tennessee. “Company Man,” the album's lead single, capitalizes on its post-punk rhythm and witty vocals, while “Beehive” parallels modern hardcore music. Choncy passionately shape their Midwestern identity across 'Community Chest' with an original sonic and visual prowess.

***"THE TOMS was originally released in 1979. The project of TOM MAROLDA, a New Jersey musician, he recorded the album in his home studio, playing all the instruments himself. In the years since its release, it's become a highly prized treasure amongst power pop fans around the world, at least those lucky enough to discover it. Beatlesque melodies abound on a record that sounds anything but lo-fi. Feel It Records is proud to re-release this long sought after gem with 12 bonus tracks that have never seen the light of day on vinyl before!"—John M. Three new originals follow up nicely on their debut album, This Time Around, that came out late last year—a stripped down, r'n'r garage punk extravaganza. Heavy Mother also treat us to dynamite renditions of "The Other Side of This Life" (Fred Neil), "Boogaloo!" (Don Gardner), and the Velvet Underground's "Foggy Notion" featuring a special guest appearance from Craig Bell (Rocket From The Tombs, Mirrors, Saucers). ***CLASS are back with But Who's Reading Me?, their third outing since teaming up with Feel It Records in June 2022. Recorded at Midtown Island Studios in their hometown of Tucson, Arizona, CLASS kick off their 2023 output with four stellar new cuts rounded off by alternate versions of two from their latest full length, Epoca de Los Vaqueros. Fourteen minutes of punk, glam, garage, and power pop sounds swirled into one glorious EP from a group capable of writing and cranking out the hits on par with the best of 'em. Today My Friend You Drunk the Venom
Feel It

Way out there. From up in the attic, in the village of Cincinnati - the third album from the Drin has arrived to commence 2023. Cold rhythms reverberate through the layers of tape spliced together by Dylan McCartney and his impressive cadre of musical companions. The Drin spawned from a debut cassette edition of 50 on the Future Shock label, since teaming up with both Drunken Sailor and Mangel to issue two LPs. Their loose, careening live unit features members of Corker, Crime of Passing, the Serfs and Fruit LoOops. 'Today My Friend You Drunk the Venom' is the Drin's finest hour as a creative entity. McCartney's incredible command of rhythm lies at the forefront of the mix, complimented by a group that is able to seamlessly transport between post-punk, acid guitar jangle, and krautish experimentalism. There's even a stellar dub track on here. As much as contemporary artists tend to flaunt their affinity for the past - it's entirely worthless to apply such trappings to the Drin. Their genre-expansive abilities and deep knack for rhythm and layering are something entirely new and futuristic. Ohio has never sounded so close to outer space.

Material
Feel It

***As the Decline of Western Civilization comes into full focus, our ears turn once again to Los Angeles. The first proper full length from SMIRK could very well be the soundtrack to a Decline pt. IV, with tracks like "Living in Hell" and "Hopeless" delivered for a whole new generation of latchkey kids. Material follows 2021's 100% TOTAL PUNK EP and 2020's LP, which collected the first two cassettes-de-quarantine that began NICK VICARIO's run as Smirk. If you've worn out your copies of those releases, then Material needs no further explanation. But if you're wondering where the magic is—let's start with pure, quality songwriting. Vicario and his revolving cast of Smirk players have really done it this time. It's punk, California, paranoia, guitars, rhythm, and a sense of humor-slash-purpose joining forces to combat reality in the truest sense. Smirk have produced an impressive punk encapsulation of the times across the web of sound on Material.

***"Hey kidz, this is yer Uncle Big Dad talkin’ at ya. The staff over at Feel It Records asked if I’d say something about this debut elpee from Heavy Mother. Damn! I remember rumors of a band by that name way back when I was still alive—roamin’ the Deep South and Lower Midwest. This current crop looks a little young to be the same group, if they even existed back then. But I do remember the singer Eddie Flowers when he was a shut-in Alabama weirdo writing for fanzines as a kid in the 70s. So maybe he knew the supposed original Heavy Mother? I dunno. I do know that he went on to make some records with the original proto-punk Gizmos in Bloomington, Indiana. That was like 1976/77, if I remember correctly. And then he had a psychodelik noise improv thing in L.A. called Crawlspace that went on for more decades than I survived. But these other whipper-snappers? They ain’t that old. The guitar player Mark McWhirter and bassist Zack Worcel (aka Chode) were in a long-running Bloomington R&R band called the Cowboys. They even did some stuff for Feel It Records. Mark was also in ABC Gum for a couple years there. And Chode had his own punky trio called the Chud (don’t think they were named after the classic C.H.U.D. flick). On the skins, or drums as you squares call ’em, is Mr. Clarke Joyner. He was in the original Bloomington lineup of Circuit Des Yeux (which...

***In yet another beer-fueled entry to Cleveland's storied rock'n'roll lineage, Flea Collar step up to the plate and smash home nine hits on their self-titled debut album. The Rustbelt gang of four (affectionately known as Spot, Sparky, Cookie, and Blitz) have spent the past decade'n'change honing their collective chops in groups like Bad Noids, Brown Sugar, Spike Pit, and Woodstock '99. Anywho, since their inception as Flea Collar with 2021's 'A Hole Is A Hole' on Tetryon Tapes, the gang landed at Rumpus Room Recording with Poopy Necröpondé (Sockeye) engineering their full length effort. Whether your opinion of Cleveland leans more towards r'n'r mecca or mistake on the lake, there's clearly something in the water supply and BOY, is it baked into what Flea Collar have created across these twenty-six odd minutes. Taking cues from the Non-Commercial side of CLE punk, British heavy metal, Japanese hardcore insanity, and good old fashioned Midwest rock'n'roll - Flea Collar have turned in an epic debut that lands somewhere between tongue-in-cheek & the impending dog bite illustrated on the front cover. Where this album fits into the utterly confounding cesspool of twenty-twenties culture is a coin toss, but the true heads out there may just GET IT. Flea Collar fucking rules!

Forever Giving Handshakes by Delivery

Delivery

Forever Giving Handshakes
Feel It

Both broadening and defying the sounds of their first two 7” releases, Delivery continue their claim for the title of hardest and fastest working band in town on their debut full length LP ‘Forever Giving Handshakes’. Collecting songs written over the Melbourne five-piece’s two year lifespan and following on from the band’s bedroom project origins of ‘Yes We Do’ and the expanded one-two punch of ‘Personal Effects/The Topic’, ‘Forever Giving Handshakes’ captures Delivery at full force for the first time, leaning into the fully-realised live sound they’ve been quite actively working on since their first show in March 2021. Here the band collate a 12-track garage-punk opus, their five distinct voices simultaneously pulling songs in different directions while an undeniable chemistry reveals a combined hive mind ascending on a clear group mission… to rock. If you didn’t have the Delivery phenomenon yet, you’re about to. Marking the beginning of a victory lap for Delivery, the album rounds out a sprint of unrelenting live shows, impressive support slots and two stellar 7”s, all within a tidy 18 months. ‘Forever Giving Handshakes’ is a statement from Delivery and one of the strongest Australian punk debut albums of the past decade.

Epoca de Los Vaqueros

***"Class of Tucson AZ—instantly familiar, idiosyncratic to the max, a glorious collision in which several of American punk’s leading lights emerge from their vehicles unscathed (though I make no promises for the rest of you, see below). What more can I say about 2022’s most eagerly anticipated full-length album? (a bit more as it turns out, which is fortunate as my fee is pretty expensive, onerous, even) These songs have the requisite crunch / glue ratio and more than anyone else in their idiom, remind me of moments that don’t happen nearly enough, in rock, in life, when your eyes are closed, anywhere. I don’t think it’s a huge stretch to presume the persons responsible for these gems are keen students of the last 40+ years of underground/overground sounds (the good shit anyway), but there’s a singular voice, a defined worldview if you will, somehow cutting through our bland, brutal, grim as fuck moment in history. If you think I’m building Class up a bit much, I can promise you this—there’s at least a half dozen people I know who will hear this record and immediately fall into the throes of a deep depression because they’re _not in this band_ . And if you’re wary of being hyped-2-death, spare a thought for me for just a minute. I’m the one who’s gonna have to talk them off a ledge (figuratively, it’s mostly single stories in this part of the country)."—Gerard Cosloy

Lacerated Nights by Why Bother?

Why Bother?

Lacerated Nights
Feel It

Talk about a band...WHY BOTHER? are not only doing it themselves, but doing it for themselves. With zero interest in performing live or promoting their music online - the Mason City, Iowa four piece have been back in the basement writing and recording highly original punk music faster than it can be pressed to vinyl in this day and age. Their earliest material was collected on 'A Year of Mutations' and issued on LP by Feel It in 2021 - since then, the band has been building towards their first full length, and hot damn does it deliver! Speck's guitar sound is cut straight from the ultra-trebly Killed By Death sound as Terry's vocals and '73 Univox 100 synth cut over top of the wildly dexterous rhythm section of Pamela and Paul. It's a sound both classic and futuristic from a group of Midwestern weirdos living outside the tech bubble, spinning their own web of sound straight from 8-track tape. So if you need a dose of true original punk rock in 2022 and beyond, WHY BOTHER? can give you that fix.

Green/Blue

Worry / Gimme Hell
Feel It

"In the spirit of Dead Moon before them, Green/Blue have wrangled the simplicity of “Worry” and “Gimme Hell” to write some of their best songs to date, punk anthems that’ll have you shouting in no time. While they’ve upped the jangle and loosened the density, the duel vocal approach on “Worry” is plenty epic, a big nasty punk song with pop splendor and self-awareness. The vocals pair Sparrows and Blaha together for a riotous gang effect, giving it a sort of last-call at the seedy bar kind of energy. Which is to say, it’s pretty much perfect, a song about the struggle that feels downright triumphant. “Gimme Hell” follows suit, a down but never out call to rise up and fight. The skeletal guitars and punchy rhythm keep it firmly in the garage spit-and-jangle mode with vocals that pretty much demand to be shouted en masse. Whether it’s a new direction for the band or just a fun one-off from the studio sessions, Green/Blue sound absolutely super-charged." -Dan Goldin / Post-Trash

The dark and dreamy halftoned realism of Green/Blue comes into near-perfect focus across 'Paper Thin'. Ever the prolific recording duo, Jim Blaha and Annie Sparrows are back with their third album in as many years, following previous releases on HoZac and Slovenly. Their Minneapolis basement studio has yet again translated to tape what many in the post-punk realm often fail to realize - a certain icy-cool confidence. Chilling vocal harmonies resonate atop melodic guitar leads and a razor-sharp rhythm section as the album stretches to just under twenty-five minutes. Coincidentally, the album spins at 45, just like Spread Joy's self-titled 2021 debut. The Chicago group came out of nowhere, mid-pandemic, with a stunning ten track LP on Feel It. Returning to the warm analog environment at Jamdek Recording Co., Spread Joy have truly honed their craft across these 17 minutes and 17 seconds. Turn It On! by Romero

Romero

Turn It On!
Feel It

***The debut full length from Melbourne, Australia’s Romero is a burst of hard hitting, punk-laced powerpop. Well informed by the classics and every bit as relevant-as-it-is timeless, Turn It On! is a memorable party. An album that captures the vitality of a young band hitting their stride and doing it on their own terms without a single note of indecision. Much in the way that The Undertones, Blondie, and even Big Star debuted with a sense of purpose, Romero invite us to eleven tracks of soulful powerpop gold. Sharp production across Turn It On! catapults the impressive guitar work of both Adam Johnstone and Fergus Sinclair to the front of the mix alongside Alanna Oliver’s heart-pounding energy and show-stealing vocal prowess. Anchored by the smooth rhythm pocket of Justin “Murry” Tawil and Dave Johnstone, Romero waste no time in showing their hand on the quick-paced album opener ‘Talk About It’—recalling '80s powerpop rhapsodies. The title track beckons bodies to the dancefloor with a rich Runaways-like temper that naturally explodes into a fiery guitar solo. Meanwhile ‘Halfway Out The Door’ and ’White Dress’ show off the band’s adept ballad-writing, boasting truly emotional highs, lows and soaring choruses. Those hip to the incredible debut Romero single—‘Honey’ b/w ‘Neapolitan’ (Cool Death, 2020) will be overjoyed to see these relatable anthems recast in the album’s tracklisting. Turn It On! reveals stories of personal striving, restarting, mulling-over the unsaid, resisting control, deteriorating relationships, the emotional throes of uncertainty and celebrating growth through all such experiences....

Meadow Flower by Star Party

Star Party

Meadow Flower
Feel It

***Star Party began in March 2020 as a Seattle living room project between Carolyn Brennan and Ian Corrigan (Gen Pop, Vexx)—both sharing a love of high energy rock n roll music. The idea to start a band percolated during trips to the high deserts of eastern Washington to pick sage and see the sun as a brief reprieve from the misty and gray Pacific Northwestern Spring. A few months later, Star Party released Demo 2020 on Feel It Records, featuring two originals and covers of The Shop Assistants' "Something to Do" and the classic "All I Really Wanna Do" (in the vein of Cher's version). Over the course of 2021, Star Party wrote and recorded their debut LP, Meadow Flower, wherever and whenever they could. Employing like-minded Feel It label mate Caufield Schnug of Sweeping Promises (who also moonlights as one part of Melody Men Mastering) to mix and master the album, Meadow Flower follows a direct line from where Demo 2020 left off. Brennan's soft and clearly American vocals float over waves of feedback and drum machine racket like a delicate mist sitting just above a mountain lake. Melodies bob and weave inside an omnipresent static that fills in every nook and cranny of the recording. Drawing from a quiver of influences such as Black Tambourine, Confuse (JP), The Count Five, and of course The Shop Assistants (RIP Alex Taylor), Star Party's debut album seamlessly meshes together noise, melody, and harmony. Packaged in a full color gatefold jacket featuring...

Twelve More Observations On Healthy Living by Man-Eaters

Man-Eaters

Twelve More Observations On Healthy Living
Feel It

From the great city of Chicago, returning to the limelight after their widely acclaimed debut LP, are none other than the almighty MAN-EATERS. Twelve More Observations on Healthy Living kicks right back into the 70's-inspired hard rock and proto-punk/metal hooks delivered on their debut. Much like the great Annihilation Time, our friends in Man-Eaters have really come into their own on this second album - applying the energy and chops built up from their hardcore days in Cülo into a heavier, louder, and pummeling hard rock equivalent. This is one for the beer drinkers and hell raisers, for the punks and metalheads - a damn fine rock'n'roll album that's fast, loose, and ready to be cranked LOUD!

A Woman And Beyond
Feel It

"When we wrote ‘Quale Futuro?’ we wanted it to be an outreaching work, and have a collective dimension to it. So, we thought a zine was the right medium to do this. We asked writers, photographers, and visual artists to confront and expand on the ideas at the core of our album, to try to answer the main question behind it, what future? Now, we felt it was time to involve other musicians we are fans of. 'A Woman And Beyond' features remixes by GIRL RAY, ITALIA 90, HOTEL LUX, and TURNIP KING - giving 'A Woman' back to us changed, broader and richer." -Qlowski

Paint It Clear by Alien Nosejob

Alien Nosejob

Paint It Clear
Feel It

One of the most familiar faces in the busy Melbourne music scene; Jake Robertson (who you may remember from such class acts as Ausmuteants, Hierophants, School Damage, et al) returns in full-fledged form with another unruly record from his solo alter-ego ALIEN NOSEJOB. Thirteen months on since the hardcore-punk inspired concept album, ‘Once Again The Present Becomes The Past’, Alien Nosejob turns the ship back to front and sails in a new direction, yet again. Paint It Clear mixes sounds of classic 80’s new wave and post punk whilst sprinkling in the occasional disco track on top. But don’t let these descriptions throw you off - it still carries Robertson’s classic screech of cheeky yet witty lyrics and sharp songwriting hooks. After three home-recorded records prior to this, Mikey Young has finally been phoned in to take over the production controls and breathes a whole new way of life into Alien Nosejob. Never before has ANJ been heard in such fidelity. The clarity! The definition! The dynamics! It all shines brighter than ever before resulting in a record that Robertson’s “parents could actually listen to”. There’s a little something for everyone; whether it be 80’s Cure-inspired synths in Duplicating Satan, the robust Devo-like feel of Leather Gunn, the sing-along chorus of Crusader of Coles, or the melodic, minor closer that is Bite My Tongue. There’s even The Butcher; a piano ballad inspired by the Fun Boy Three, showcasing Jake’s skills as not just a songwriter, but a damn fine singer.

A Year Of Mutations by Why Bother?

Why Bother?

A Year Of Mutations
Feel It

In the heart of the heartland, a mere ten miles from where the airplane carrying Buddy Holly crashed into a frozen cornfield, lies Mason City, Iowa. A town so small that it's pre-pandemic punk scene (with 20+ bands) went almost entirely unnoticed. That is, until the music of WHY BOTHER? and the "Punk on the Plains" compilations (curated by WB? drummer Paul), were made available by Tremendo Garaje - one of YouTube's most obsessive gateways into contemporary underground punk music. WHY BOTHER? is Terry on vocals + synth, Speck on guitar, Pamela on bass, and Paul on drums. Their sound takes the classic Midwestern punk approach of The Zero Boys and Toxic Reasons, adding in warm layers of synth and sci-fi thematics ala The Spits and darker post-punk moments in the vein of early Joy Division. Yet there's so much more to this band that defies comparison, for WHY BOTHER? are truly a singular experience. "A Year of Mutations" collects tracks from the first four WHY BOTHER? EPs, all of which were released in limited cassette and 7" lathe cut runs in 2020 and 2021. These have all been remastered, paired with several new tracks exclusive to this release, and repackaged in a fresh layout with artwork from D.H. Strother. WHY BOTHER? have no plans or intentions to perform live, but their basement 8-track recording setup shows no signs of slowing down. Expect more in 2022 & beyond!

Riddles From The Universe
Feel It

From the depths of Cleveland, THE COWBOY return with their third album! Whether you've been a believer since the trio's debut long player on Fashionable Idiots, or are just now tuning in - you've arrived at something great. THE COWBOY have found a formula that truly works and excel at pushing it forward in new and exciting ways. For the uninitiated, it's a sound steeped in 70s/80s punk and some of the noise rock that's followed. A style both razor sharp and played with a breeze-like efficiency. 13 brilliantly simple and bright bursts of Ohio r'n'r, most clocking in around the 90-second mark. It's almost entrancing how great THE COWBOY are on this masterful third album. "Riddles from the Universe" is packaged in a gatefold jacket designed by Professor B. Gaffney which folds open to reveal an entire galaxy of imagery and lyrics that tie everything together on this cosmic vinyl album.

***Fashion Pimps And The Glamazons. A new Cleveland rock group, cut from the same musical DNA that has spawned wonders like Folded Shirt, Cloud Nothings, Donkey Bugs, and countless others. It's fashion. Angular. Punk. Richard Glamazon's tortured, warbly guitar refuses to talk in power chords, stringing notes around high powered synth blasts from Noah A (Profligate). Steve Chainsaw anchors the low end while espousing freaky plans and twisted dreams through hypnotic, layered vocals. Jayson G lays into the drums like only a true Fashion Pimp. The Glamazons prove to be immaculately tight, driving their amplified Rust Belt experience into the ether. Jazz 4 Johnny holds court with Ubus and X_Xs past, yet the sound isn't quite Terminal, Drome, or even Mustard...it's the future, baby! Have you met Fashion Pimps And The Glamazons yet? Soup For My Family by Lysol

Lysol

Soup For My Family
Feel It

***As we break free from the days spent at home, and as the vapid live streams begin to dwindle, the desire for a loud, fast, and loose rock'n'roll sound has never been greater. Well look no further folks, LYSOL are more than just a flammable aerosol cleaner, they're the sonic catalyst for destruction. A frequent fixture on the Seattle and Olympia scenes, Lysol have steadily made a name for themselves - not only through a stack of previous singles and demos, but as an exceptional live band. "Soup for My Family", the debut Lysol album, is exactly the moment we've all been waiting for. There's nothing held back in these eleven tracks, not an ounce of bullshit. It's a furious flurry of punk, hardcore, and garage rock. You can practically feel the calloused fingers that created these abrasive guitar licks and powerful rhythm pocket running right up against the most psycho, in-the-red vocals this side of Iggy or Teengenerate. A wailing sax (compliments of former Milk Music-ian Dave Harvey) sends "Soup for My Family" off into the cosmos - and if you can put yourself back together after that, the turntable may as well stay set at 45 so you can flip this sucker over and remember why you fell in love with rock'n'roll in the first place. "Soup for My Family" is packaged in a full color gatefold jacket adorned with the original artwork of Lysol's own Xtine Lundberg, plus lyric insert, download code, and hype sticker.

Spllit Sides by Spllit

Spllit

Spllit Sides
Feel It

***Somewhere out there, a new sound known as Next Level Music exists. The hot and humid Amite River basin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana is the unlikely, albeit natural inflection point for such a sound—created by a duo with a driving penchant for originality, known as SPLLIT. The story of Spllit begins with a fun challenge of sorts: to write and record split sides of an album in under a day's time. Enter Urq and Marance, and their arsenal of odd-shaped guitars, synthesizers, glass and metal percussive gadgets, marimbas, and so-on. "Spllit Sides" slowly rises from a cacophony of tape splicing into clear and concrete Next Level Music. Like an acid tableaux vivant—a swirling sonic whirlwind of loose and odd time signatures come into play along with the occasional pop sensibility. Originality remains key in Spllit's formula, but let's establish some sonic kinship—maybe a Devolved, Deep South version of The Flying Lizards. Or a deep fried Eno sitting in with The Magic Band. This Heat from a place that's actually hot and has quietly housed eccentrics like The Zoomers for decades. Freaky shit from a fun(ky) new cloud. Spllit's first album features seven brand new cuts and a fresh coat of ether applied to their previous "Spllit Together" cassette, with a vibrant mastering job courtesy of Caufield Schnug (Sweeping Promises). Spllit Sides comes packaged in a 20pt. reverse board sleeve with full color insert and download code.

Malcantone by Leopardo

Leopardo

Malcantone
Feel It

"Somewhere in the elastic universe of speculative ontology a troupe of well-mannered Euros saw the June 1st, 1974 concert in London, took this sole germ back to the serene Swiss Alps (birthplace of LSD) and fecundated it with honesty - like some lifelong lysergic therapy session - until they emerged saturated with colors no one knows the name of, dripping of colors that sound like motions known solely to them. And now they've invited the rest of the world to hear. Upon first listen I was reminded of how exciting those Jeffrey Novak solo albums were - delicate pop music accessible to us, uh... malcontents. Providing the mids between Eno's highs and Ayers' lows, it's a stunning display of both art and artisanship, and like a kid who aces his test without studying, it seamlessly incorporates the crisp aural aesthetic of Chrome and layered nonchalance of Velvet Underground without stepping into the gated communities of those bands' wannabees. Echoes of Morton, Cale, Barrett... a madcap laughing, white heat from warm jets in the eyeball of hell... And yet, it sounds only like Leopardo. Make sure you listen to it seven times in a row like I did." -Brandon Gaffney

Quale Futuro? by Qlowski

Quale Futuro?
Feel It

What future? What futures? When fear substitutes truth / Misinformation obscures reality / And speculation prevails on experience / Brutality seems necessary / And empathy appears naive One. Simple. Direct. Question. Quale Futuro? What Future? Obliterated by a tumultuous year with lingering anxiety, uncertainty and a city ready to break any strand of hope, Qlowski, resorted to what they know best, turning frustration into dreams, stockpiling possibilities, fabricating desire and simply, living. This is Quale Futuro? their debut LP for Maple Death Records and Feel It Records. London based twee-punks Qlowski entered the studio in late January 2020, basically before everything. Crammed in a small studio room in Tottenham Hale with producer Lindsay A. Corstorphine (Sauna Youth, Cold Pumas, Middex) they created a striking, full blown manifesto, where their early post-punk nuances are heightened by an extremely poetic and compelling vision that encapsulates words, imagery and noise. Propulsive rhythms, a modern spin on kiwi-pop and a weird combination of dark punk, noise rock and flower pop are still the foundation of their sound but it’s the combination of bandleaders Mickey and Cecilia’s voices that creates an eerie effortless sense of familiarity. It’s no wonder they’ve known each other since they were young kids. ‘A Woman’ shines bright with Cecilia’s intimate and prismatic approach that unites Poly Styrene’s fierce delivery with the ethereal vocal melodramas produced by Joe Meek in the 60s. Mikey’s howl is confrontational and direct, moving from the motto-induced style of Italian new wave art-punks CCCP on ‘Lentil...
